The Hollies is located in a residential area only a short walk from Southport’s picturesque Lord Street, Promenade, shopping areas and transport links. Occupying its own grounds, the hollies has a large private garden to ensure privacy with car parking to the front providing easy transport for residents. There is disabled access to the rear of the building.
Aims and Objectives
Established in 1992, the Hollies aim is to create a family atmosphere, a home from home environment which we hope to be beneficial for our residents.
Promotion of independence is encouraged, however assistance will be given where necessary. Residents privacy is to be maintained at all times to retain dignity.
The Hollies offers a variety of activities in the form of trips out, manicures, exercises and sing-a-longs. However this is the residents choice. We endeavour to enhance the best quality of life for the individual resident.
The emphasis in the Dining Room will be on good home cooking and baking (dietary needs and preference of a resident will be taken into account). Meals served: early morning drink, breakfast, morning coffee and biscuits, lunch, afternoon tea with cake or biscuits, tea and then supper. Early morning drink and breakfast may be served in residents’ rooms. All other meals and drinks are normally served in the Dining Room or Lounges. (Meals in rooms can be served dependent upon circumstances). There is also a hydraulic lift which serves all floors. The Hollies has a no smoking policy within the home.

At the hollies we are able to take Respite Care which can vary from one night to a few nights or a couple of weeks, the choice is yours. All of the rooms are en-suite.
We are also able to take long term stays.
We are re willing to negotiate the “top up”, with a view to initially taking Sefton rate.
We can also facilitate emergency admissions if required.
The Hollies can carry out assessments to ensure swift discharges from the hospital, or from their own homes, in a timely manner. We do not have a “cut off point” for admissions. E.G. evenings or weekends.
To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors.
